Founded in 1993 as The Electronics Boutique, the name was later changed to EB Games in 2002. In 2005, U.S based GameStop acquired EB Games. On July 28, 2021, EB Games announced they'd be renaming all their stores in Canada to GameStop, the name of their parent company. On May 5th, 2025 it was announced that Stephan Tetrault officially acquired Electronics Boutique Canada inc. also known as "GameStop Canada" from GameStop Global Holdings S.A.R.L. The company has rebranded back to EB Games Canada.
