Something Missing?

The modern Olympic Games, commonly referred to as the Olympics, are leading international sporting events that feature thousands of athletes from more than 200 nations participating in summer and winter competitions. The Summer and Winter Olympic Games are normally held two years apart from each other, with each of the two versions taking place every four years.

The modern Olympics were inspired by the ancient Olympic Games, held in Olympia, Greece from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD. Baron Pierre de Coubertin of France founded the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1894, leading to the first modern Olympic Games in Athens, Greece in 1896.
