Something Missing?

Zandar is a Dreadnok character from the A Real American Hero series.

Zartan is the master of disguise (holographics or make up and masks) while Zarana is the mistress of acting and disguise. Zandar is none of that. He never developed his siblings' mastery over the art of disguise. What he is good at, though, is hiding and sneaking up on people. What is more surprising is that he often does it in plain sight. Despite his garish outfit, he somehow manages to make himself unnoticeable until it is too late for his intended target. It is a skill he has worked to near perfection. We don't know why he chose this particular ability. Maybe his siblings' more dominant personalities made him want to retreat and not be involved in their squabbles?

Though while in the first filecard it was said he didn't do disguise, in the second filecard of the character, it is said: Like his brother Zartan, he can disguise himself as anyone. And in the comics, he also sometimes disguise himself. But he still seems to not have the more dominant personality as he often obeys his sister Zarana or envy his brother Zartan. This is not to show that he doesn't have a temper when he wishes, since in one comic a Dreadnok tells another who was late for patrol: "Zandar's supervisin' tonight. If he's on your bad side you better hope the gators get you first."

In the Sunbow cartoon, Zandar and Zarana's relation is more like an aggressive one, both insulting and fighting each other like some siblings do. Despite being voiced by Peter Cullen, Zandar has very few presence or lines in all of the series.

On his second filecard, Zandar is said to be possibly born in Florida while his big brother Zartan seems to possibly be born in France (and also made his military service in France). It may mean that the family travelled a bit. And in the IDW comics, where Zandar and Zarana are not Zartan's siblings, it is said they are born in England.

The first filecard stated that both Zandar and Zarana had the ability to change their skin color like their brother Zartan, their action figures also changing color. But aside from the original commercial, they never were shown having those powers.
